Khachatur Badalyan

Khachatur Badalyan was born on the 9th of May 1982 in Orjonikidze (Vladikavkaz, Northern Osetia).

In 2004 he graduated with a red diploma from Don State Technical University (Department of International Economic Relations). And studied in Rostov State Conservatory of Music by S. Rachmaninov (professor Petrova N.)

The singer evolved in master classes with many prominent singers and conductors, such as Richard Budo and Diane Zola (Association of Houston Grand Opera), Leonore Rosenberg (United States, the Metropolitan Opera), Veriano Luchetti and Mietta Seghele in the Riccardo Zandonai Opera Festival in Riva del Garda (Italy),Michael Paul (USA, Italy).

The tenor cooperated with such conductors as Michael Pletnev, Antonello Allemandi, Keri-Lynn Wilson, Teodor Kurentzis, Marco Bohemi, Eri Klas, etc.

Khachatur Badalyan took part in Irina Arkhipova projects.

In 2007 he became the laureate of the Special Award in Riccardo Zandonai Opera Singers Competition (Riva del Garda, Italy).

In 2008 – Winner of the 1st Prize in the International Tenor Competition in memory of Luciano Pavarotti (St. Petersburg, Elena Obraztsova Foundation).

In 2010 – Winner of the 1st Prize at the Galina Vishnevskaya III International Opera Singers Competition (Moscow)

In 2011 – Winner of the 2nd Prize at the First International Singing Competition “Marcello Giordani” (Italy).

Among the engagements of the season 2010-2011 there were Rodolfo in Puccini “La Boheme” in Teatro Massimo Bellini (Catania), Afredo from “La Traviata” Verdi and Ismale from “Nabucco” Verdi in Wielki Opera (Warsaw). Future engagements include Pinkerton from “Madama Butterfly” Puccini in Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Duca from “Rigoletto” Verdi in Teatro Massimo Bellini (Catania), Alfredo from “La Traviata” Verdi in Teatro Massimo (Palermo), Alfredo from “La Traviata” Verdi in Teatro La Fenice, etc.
