Joann Serra

Director of Finance and Administration


Ms. Joann Serra joined Arizona Opera in 2012, as the Director of Finance & Administration. In this role, she directs the financial affairs of the organization, overseeing established best practices to support sound fiscal management, including financial plans, policies and financial reporting. Additionally, she is responsible for administering human resources, and overseeing the organization’s administration functions and IT systems.

Ms. Serra has over twenty years of non- profit arts finance and administration experience.  She began her career in 1991 working for The Jupiter Performing Arts Company as the Director of Finance and Administration, She then worked for The Norton Museum of Art as the Accounting Manager and Palm Beach Opera as the Controller and HR Administrator. MS. Serra’s studies have included Financial Certification from Rutgers University and Human Resource Certification from Northwood University.

Ms. Serra resides in the Sonoran Foothills with her husband.
