Arizona Opera names Austin's Joseph Specter as general director
When Arizona Opera general director Ryan Taylor announced he would be leaving in May, the company immediately started looking for a new leader in very much the same mold.
On Thursday, April 28, the Phoenix-based company named its choice: Joseph Specter, currently general director of Austin Opera in Texas.
I think that the work that Ryan and the rest of the company did during his time was incredible work and elevated the conversation around Arizona Opera as a company, I believe locally but certainly nationally. I want to carry that banner forward.
