Arizona Opera welcomes families to free event on Saturday

Valley families are invited to the Arizona Opera on Saturday for an afternoon of free entertainment and education about the theater profession.

From 11:30 AM until 3:30 PM, children will enjoy an opera adaptation performance of Beauty and the Beast by Arizona Opera’s Brewster OperaTunity Troupe.

The event takes place at the Roma and Raymond Wittcoff Black Box Theater at the Arizona Opera Center, 1636 N. Central Ave., Phoenix.

After the performance, which begins at 12:30 PM, families and children can learn about the theater profession and find out what goes into creating opera costumes and wardrobe, scenery, theatrical construction and the skills of stage management during an Apprentice Open House, according to a release.
