Development Department – Fundraising Campaign Manager
Arizona Opera is a professional opera company that presents fully staged opera productions and numerous outreach and education events. The Fundraising Campaign Manager is crucial to the successful presentation of the Arizona Opera to the community as a committed Arizona performing arts partner, fiscally responsible and worthy of the contribution of funds.
The Fundraising Campaign Manager oversees annual and renewal fundraising campaigns with direct mail, email and personal interaction and is responsible for tracking and reporting results. The position is also responsible for donor benefit fulfillment by insuring that patrons receive appropriate seating, recognition, accommodation and other benefits. The position manages the development database and is the primary source for reporting on development revenue. The position manages grant cycles, prepares grants with team assistance and insures that grant requests and reports are filed accurately and on time.
The Fundraising Campaign Manager supports the Development department in meeting the Company’s fundraising goals and is responsible for coordinating efforts with members of the Development team as well as the Marketing, Education and Finance departments. The successful candidate will be required to attend performances, rehearsals and other special events, including those on evenings and weekends, as appropriate.
Responsibilities ( included but not limited to)
- Fundraising campaigns – annual, anniversary, year end, individual
- Donor benefit fulfillment – stewardship, personal interaction
- Database management-input, list preparation, gift entry/acknowledgment
- Financial tracking, projections and reporting
- Grant management – tracking, writing, coordinating, preparing, submitting
- Event support – annual ball, event outreach
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree from accredited university
- Minimum of 4 years of fundraising, marketing, public relations experience
- Strong Database management experience; Raiser’s Edge or Tessitura preferred
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office and design applications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong social skills demonstrating a comfort level interfacing with donors and patrons
- Attention to detail and high level of organizational skills
- Background in the arts or as an arts consumer preferable
- Non-profit experience a plus

Development Department-Major and Institutional Gifts Manager

The Major and Institutional Gifts Manager is crucial to the successful presentation of the Arizona Opera as a committed Arizona community and performing arts partner, fiscally responsible and worthy of the contribution of funds.
The Major and Institutional Gifts Manager is responsible for directly identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding institutional and major individual gifts, developing an ‘in kind’ gifting solicitation strategy and serving as a key relationship manager. This position will work collaboratively with the Director of Development to create individual and institutional giving strategies to ensure that general operating, endowment, capital and special program or project funding priorities are met. The successful candidate will be required to attend performances, rehearsals and other special events, including those on evenings and weekends, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years senior development and/or community relations experience in a non-profit organization
- Demonstrated track record in successfully soliciting and securing major gifts
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Database management experience; Raiser’s Edge or Tessitura preferred
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong social skills demonstrating a comfort level interfacing with donors and patrons
- Attention to detail and high level or organizational skills

Community Liason - Tucson
The Arizona Opera is looking for an experienced and competent Part Time (+/- 30 hours per week) Community Liason. This position resides in Tucson, Arizona and is crucial to the successful presentation of the Arizona Opera to the community as a committed Arizona performing arts partner.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate office needs
- Assist subscribers and donors with needs and information for season
- Recruit and engage community through events and volunteer opportunities
- Help organize and maintain group sales
- Welcome office guests, patrons and customers
- Work performances or events, serving as a customer service contact
- Process single and season tickets
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills (in-person, telephone, and in writing) are required as well as an excellent work ethic and attention to detail. Strong skills with PCs, Microsoft Excel and Word are required. Experience with box office ticketing systems and Ticketmaster is a plus. Strong verbal and written communications are essential.

Part Time Phoenix Box Office Associate - Arizona Opera
The Arizona Opera is looking for a Part-Time (+/- 15 hrs per week) Box Office Associate with Ticketmaster experience and a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process ticket orders at the Box Office window
- Staff box office for walk up and phone calls and complete customer transactions for ticket sales.
- Process single/season tickets
- Update Ticketmaster information (dates, addresses, options, etc.)
- File and organize orders daily
- Sell tickets at the window of Phoenix performances as needed, and serve as customer service contact at performances as needed
- Assist Daily Box Office operations
- Other duties as assigned.

Costume Shop Manager
Arizona Opera is seeking candidates for the position of Costume Shop Manager. The position will oversee the costume shop, wardrobe, and wig staff. The position will be responsible for securing costume packages, shopping, dry cleaning, fitting schedules, wardrobe running sheets, wardrobe payroll, wardrobe accounting, contact with designers and directors and interaction with the stage manager. Wig and Make-Up Staff
Arizona Opera is seeking a Wig and Make-Up Manager and assistants to build, repair and maintain the wigs for the 2010-11 season. Marketing and Public Relations Intern
The Arizona Opera is seeking a Marketing and Public Relations Intern to provide departmental support for the promotion of the organizations performances and activities.. This is an unpaid position which may satisfy requirements for earning college credit. Hours are flexible and average approximately 20+ hours per week. Attendance at weekend concerts required. Duties include clerical and administrative activities such as general correspondence, database management and filing for Arizona Opera, front of house assistance, customer relations, promotional events and writing assignments for press releases, programs and other communications. Assist with social networking outlets for Facebook and twitter as well as compiling artist materials, bios from various guest artists and production photography. Assist in developing promotional activities for opera performances in Phoenix and Tucson with area businesses and media. Oversee community outreach program to provide tickets to area organizations to bring community groups to Arizona Opera performances. Other duties as assigned. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and social networking sites is a must. Applicants should be able to work in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment, have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong organizational skills. Intern
Arizona Opera offers internships for students interested in a career in a non-profit arts organization. Interns will be exposed to many facets of the administrative office responsible for the operation of the organization and will develop an understanding of how the non-profit arts world operates. Internships are often available in the following areas: Development/Fundraising, Education, Finance, Marketing/Public Relations, Special Events Interns must demonstrate strong computer, written and oral communication, and organization skills; and the ability to perform multiple tasks with attention to detail. They must maintain a professional manner including attitude and attire and be able to interface successfully with a variety of personalities. Internships are unpaid and require a minimum of 10 hours a week (scheduling is flexible) during regular office hours (9:00am to 5:00pm). Intern may also be asked to attend evening events and/or weekend performances. Arizona Opera has offices in Phoenix and Tucson and does not provide housing, transportation, or relocation costs.
