Arizona Opera Cast Members & Creatives

Kayla Zeimet has always been captivated by live performances. She joined the Theatrical Production scene fresh out of middle school as a do-it-all Intern in 2013 with the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre. This is where her love of learning and collaborating was sparked. Since her days on the Showboat, Kayla pursued her degree in Theatre: Design & Production at the University of Northern Iowa where she held leadership as a Technical Assistant, Wig & Makeup Supervisor, Wardrobe Supervisor, and Design Assistant. During her summers, Kayla travelled to the beautiful mountains of Logan, Utah to work with Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre. Those four summers in Utah allowed Kayla to challenge herself and develop her leadership style as she grew from a Costume Studio & Wardrobe Intern to their Wardrobe Supervisor.

Following graduation, Kayla joined Arizona Opera as part of the NextGen Production Apprentice Program and returned the following season as a Journeyman Apprentice emphasizing in Wardrobe Supervision. Kayla is delighted to join the Arizona Opera Staff as the Assistant Costume Shop Manager & Wardrobe Supervisor. Kayla is also a proud member of Arizona Opera’s DEIA Working Group, where she excitedly collaborates with other members to continually improve company culture within Arizona Opera.
