Arizona Opera's Health & Safety Protocols

Proof of Vaccination: Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 is required for all adults and children attending all indoor performances and events at Arizona Opera. Audience members may display proof of vaccine on a smartphone or by showing a physical copy of the vaccination card or official vaccination record, along with a government-issued ID, including driver’s licenses and passports. Guests younger than 18 may present a school photo ID.

A person is fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving all recommended doses in their primary series of COVID-19 vaccine.

In lieu of proof of full vaccination, a person can provide either a lab generated PCR or lab generated antigen test result, or they can rapid test onsite (subject to availability).

Per the CDC’s recommendation, audience members must continue to wear a mask or face covering over their nose and mouth when in the common indoor areas regardless of vaccination status, unless actively eating or drinking.

Arizona Opera follows up-to-date guidelines provided by federal and state health officials, city and county health departments. Please read about the measures we have put in place.

Updated information about safety requirements will be communicated to ticket holders as show dates approach through our “Know Before You Go” email communications.

Face Coverings

  • Audiences must wear a mask or face covering over their nose and mouth at our performances and programs, regardless of vaccination status.
  • All Arizona Opera patrons, staff, and volunteers are required to wear face masks in indoor common areas and during performances.

Vaccine or Negative COVID-19 PCR (or Antigen) Test

  • In lieu of proof of full vaccination, a person can provide either a lab generated PCR or lab generated antigen test result, or they can rapid test onsite (subject to availability).

Please stay home if you are feeling ill, if you are living with someone who is displaying symptoms of COVID-19, or who has the virus. If you are unable to attend a performance for any of these reasons, please email us before the performance at boxoffice@azopera.org, and we will work with you on your ticketing options. In addition to these policies, and a variety of measures are being implemented in our venues to help ensure a safe environment. These include enhanced cleaning procedures, upgraded air filtration systems, hand sanitizing stations, and paperless tickets.
