Arizona Opera’s Education Teaching Artists are ready to join your class in-person or virtually to provide a masterclass on the topic of your choice! Masterclass topics include: vocal technique, opera history, career development, performance anxiety, mental/physical health relating to performers, and individual or group coaching for classical singers, and musical theatre! Available for ALL cities in Arizona.

Opera in a Dropbox: Cinderella is a virtual tool that will help students develop their reading and acting skills, while being accompanied by tracks that were pre-recorded by professional opera singers, and with a guest artist watching and leading the performance. This innovative program allows YOU to select the path that is most beneficial to you and your students. And, all materials are already created for you, including step-by-step instructions as to how to facilitate each option.

Special tickets are available for the final dress rehearsal performance of every mainstage opera. These nights are reserved specifically for students to get swept away by great music and stories–while enhancing classroom learning.

 

Student Backstage Tours

In-personStudent Backstage Tech Theater Tours

Student Backstage Tech Theater Tours offer High School students grades 9-12 the opportunity to go backstage during Tech week of Carmen, A Little Night Music, or Così fan tutte. Ledd by Arizona Opera’s Technical Director Matthew Christophel, students will tour a number of backstage production areas as they learn. Students will leave the tour with insider knowledge about what goes on behind-the-scenes!

Arizona Opera and Ballet Arizona are proud to present Music Movement Breaks, a FREE digitally interactive tool that encourages your students to get up, dance, and have fun while learning important rhythm, listening, and movement skills. Whether used as a tool to teach important state standards, or just to take a break from virtual, hybrid, or in-person learning, these Music Movement Breaks are sure to get your students moving and dancing!

Experience an opera performance at your school, community center, or library through a fully staged, 40-minute adaptation of a classic, or an original story! Performances are presented in English and designed for K-8 audiences.

Musical Storytime with Arizona Opera

Join members of the Arizona Opera Education Department for Storytime with a musical twist! Travel with us as we visit Cinderella, explore the forest with Hansel and Gretel, take up residence at The Metropolitan Opera House, and more! Each selected story is woven together with musical experts to enhance the story being presented.
