POSTPONED- 2020 Gala Luncheon

A Gala Named Desire: Revelry in the French Quarter
Saturday, March 14, 2020 - 10:30 AM (Scottsdale)

IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING OUR 2020 GALA LUNCHEON:
After much soul searching and in consideration of the most immediate information available on the coronavirus, the Arizona Opera board and staff have made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone our 2020 Gala Luncheon: A Gala Named Desire, originally scheduled for this Saturday, March 14, 2020.

Arizona Opera takes its responsibility for patron safety at every event seriously, and believes this to be the most responsible decision under present circumstances. Like all of you, we are heartbroken that our community is in this unique and rapidly-evolving situation, but we are confident that we will get through it TOGETHER. That is, after all, the core spirit of AZO - we’re a family.

That said, all the “magic” we promised you isn’t gone just yet! Stay tuned, as we will soon have information online about an online auction, which will feature some of our most exciting raffle and live auction items! This will be a great opportunity for those of you that planned to support AZO on the day of the gala luncheon, and a great help to the company as we navigate through this challenging moment.

Thanks so much to all of you that have taken part in supporting this event with your table sponsorships, ticket purchases, and in-kind support. Any questions about refunds, rescheduling, or other issues may of course be directed to Ashley Parks, Director of Development, at aparks@azopera.org.

Much like Blanche DuBois in the cinematic version of Tennessee Williams’ masterpiece A Streetcar Named Desire, Arizona Opera has “always depended upon the kindness of strangers…” and while you’re no stranger to us, we hope you will join us for this year’s festivities as we revel in the magical, mysterious, and delightful old-world charm of New Orleans – the epitome of bon vivant living!

Whether you’re a mardi gras king or a voodoo queen, we invite you to dress up in your jazziest daytime cocktail attire and join in the parade as we celebrate a jubilant afternoon of refined opulence, a little outlandishness, and – of course – opera!
