Kate Kinhan-Specter
Kate Kinhan-Specter was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and moved at an early age to the Portland, Oregon, area, where her training began as a ballerina at a young age. Expanding into the world of singing, Kinhan-Specter began her voice training with operatic mezzo-soprano Dorothy Fisher-Jones.
Kinhan-Specter later moved to New York, where she had the opportunity to study with internationally-renowned voice teacher, Bill Schuman, instructor of many of today’s great singers in opera houses and Broadway theaters. Kinhan-Specter's performing experience includes opera, operetta, musical theater, commercials, and film soundtracks.
In addition to her performing arts teaching, Kinhan-Specter also instructs yoga privately, having received her 200-hour teacher training certificate from ISHTA Yoga in New York City.
Kinhan-Specter believes strongly in teaching within a relaxed environment, and is pleased to teach singers from beginners to more experienced performers in any style.
