We know parking can sometimes be a hassle, especially downtown. Skip this all together by taking an Uber! Here's how to use the app:

Uber for Android

Downloading Uber

 

1.  Open the Google Play Store

 

2. Tap the search bar and type a search for Uber, then press the magnifying glass to begin search.

  

 

3. Tap “Uber.” (Be sure to select the app developed by “Uber Technologies, Inc.”)

 

4. Tap the “Install” button.  If you are prompted, tap accept to begin downloading.

 

5. Once downloaded, open the app and register with an email address, phone number, and credit card.  **This information is required in order to use the app.**

 

6. Once this information is provided, a confirmation email will be sent to the email registered to the account.  Once confirmed, you will be able to utilize the app to request a ride.

 

 

Requesting a Ride

1. In the app, tap the “Where to?” field.

 

2. Type in a destination.  You can use an address or a name of a business, but once it displays at the bottom of the screen, tap the listing that best matches the location based on the locations’ address and name.

 

3. Select Uber service.  The top two or three choices will be the most common choices for rides.

• UberX- The most affordable and most common option for most riders. This option will fit up to four riders.
• UberXL- A larger, more expensive Uber for groups up to six. These most often will be minivans and similar, but there are a few out there that aren't but can fit that amount.
• UberSELECT- A more luxurious (and appropriately more expensive) option.
• Uber BLACK- An expensive, high-end luxury service.
• UberSUV- A higher-end version of UberXL for parties up to seven.
• UberACCESS- Comprises two separate services for disabled Riders: UberWAV (wheelchair-accessible vehicles) and UberASSIST (vehicles with specially-trained staff to help elderly or mobility-impaired riders.

**Not all services are covered by every region and your options vary by what's available in each location**

4. Confirm your payment option.

5. Tap "Choose [Uber service type]"

6. Confirm your pickup location if asked.

 

Tips:

• Be sure to meet your driver within two (2) minutes of their arrival
• Confirm license plate and driver name before you enter the car
