To be an aspiring artist in 1830s Paris was to be poor—but happy. When Mimì enters the poet Rodolfo’s apartment in search of a flame to light her candle, the pair ignite a romance that burns brilliantly through the ages. The passion and struggle of Rodolfo and his fellow bohemians come to life in Puccini’s timeless masterpiece, one of opera’s most popular and engaging stories. La Bohème will thrill you with its sweeping melodies and its dramatic love story.

Join us for a free music and lecture series at the Kerr Cultural Center, presented by Kyle Homewood. Each preview is designed to enhance your understanding of the music, themes, and history behind an upcoming performance, and is capped off by a musical selection sung by a main stage singer. Reservations are available through the Kerr Cultural Center 2 weeks before each event.
Special tickets are available for the final dress rehearsal performance of every opera. These nights are reserved specifically for students to get swept away by great music and stories – while enhancing classroom learning through supplied materials. These nights are open to schools, homeschool groups, student community centers, families, college students, and more!
In Opera Book Club, use on-stage works as a jumping off point to read, discover, and gain added context to enhance your experience in the theater. Opera Book Club meetings take place at Union Public House. Appetizers will be provided, and additional food and drink will be available for purchase.
