Join us for a free music and lecture series at the Kerr Cultural Center. Get a detailed look at each opera and receive exclusive, behind-the-scenes information about our productions. This lecture series is ideal for all opera lovers— of all ages. Lectures begin at 10:30am at the ASU Kerr Cultural Center.
Enjoy University of Arizona vocal arts students singing key arias from shows in Arizona Opera’s 2014-15 season; a narrator will give the libretto and a brief biography of the composer.
On this special night, the Arizona Opera will be converted into a marketplace!
Special tickets are available for the final dress rehearsal of every mainstage opera. These nights are reserved specifically for students to get swept away by great music and stories- while enhancing classroom learning with pre and post-show presentations. Registration is required.
Audiences are invited to bring a sack lunch and enjoy a second performance of Say Hello to Opera on Fridays. OGSA provides free cookies, coffee, and tea.
We’ll be opening our doors for the public to come to the Arizona Opera Center to introduce participants to Hispanic art beyond mariachi.
Three local scholars and community leaders will partake in a guided conversation about the current state of immigration and how the arts are uniquely positioned to promote cultural understanding.
During this lecture demonstration, the audience will be treated to an in depth exploration of mariachi by leading mariachi scholars and performers. By the end of the lecture, audience members will have a complete understanding of the origins, development and elements of mariachi. This educational event will be fun and energetic as music and conversation collide and illuminate this great artistic tradition.
Arizona Opera presents a master class with Arizona Opera’s Marion Roose Pullin Studio Artists as a special addition to our Tucson Hispanic Heritage Festival.
